A skincare routine is a set of steps that you do regularly to take care of your skin. It typically includes cleansing, toning, moisturising, and protecting your skin from harmful UV rays. A skincare routine is important because it helps maintain the health and appearance of your skin, prevents skin issues, and can slow down the aging process. 

It is generally recommended to cleanse your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. This helps remove dirt, oil, and makeup that can accumulate on your skin throughout the day and during sleep. The Skin Elixir Organic Frankincense & May Chang Moisturiser doubles up as a cleanser. Apply small amount to face, massage in, take hot cloth (flannel or add a cloth to your shopping cart) using sweeping motions draw the cloth across your face, removing make up and cleaning the skin. Pat dry. 

A cleanser is used to remove dirt, oil, and impurities from the skin, while a toner is used to balance the pH of your skin, remove any remaining traces of cleanser, and prepare the skin for the next steps of your skincare routine. I find Apple Cider Vinegar works well twice a week, use this diluted on cotton wool, sweep across face.

Yes, even if you have oily skin, moisturising is still important. Oily skin can still be dehydrated, use the Skin Elixir Moisturiser which will help balance oil production and keep your skin really well moisturised with a hydrated glow.

It is generally recommended to exfoliate your skin 1-2 times a week, depending on your skin type and the type of exfoliant you use. Gentle exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, promoting a smoother and brighter complexion. Though daily cleansing with the Skin Elixir moisturiser as aforementioned, will have a similar effect.

Yes, it is recommended to wear sunscreen every day, even if you spend most of your time indoors. UV rays can still penetrate through windows and cause damage to your skin, leading to premature aging and an increased risk of skin cancer. However, the best advice really is to minimise time spent in direct sunlight. Wear a sun hat and generally keep the face out of direct sunlight. Astaxanthin is a super antioxidant supplement and used as an alternative to mineral sunscreen.

- While some skincare products can be used both day and night, it is important to consider the specific needs of your skin. It's best to choose products that are suitable for the time of day and your skin's needs. That said, Skin Elixir products are designed to be layered and used interchangeably and work effectively, whether worn day or night. My waterless formulas go a long way.

The time it takes to see results from a new skincare routine can vary depending on the products used and your individual skin type. In general, it may take a few weeks to notice significant improvements, but some products can show immediate effects. The evening routine. Start by cleansing the face with a muslin cloth and the Organic Frankincense & May Chang Moisturiser, pat dry. Apply the All Around Eyes Elixir, followed by a few drops of the Magnificent Night Oil to face, neck and décolletage. Once absorbed, add a layer of the Intensive Night Cream. Enjoy the multi-sensory self care skin treats, which I hope you'll agree bring bliss to the skin and senses day after day. 

Addressing specific skin concerns may require targeted skincare products and treatments. For acne, ingredients like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide can be effective, while retinol and hyaluronic acid are commonly used for wrinkles. In the case of Skin Elixir I chose ingredients based on their effectiveness, non skin clogging qualities, healing properties, ability to be worn over time without losing efficacy, and waterless formulas for maximum actives. I use Bakuchiol as a vegan, plant alternative to retinol as it is natural, much better tolerated than retinol, and can be worn day or night unlike retinol, it also out performs retinol in 12 week trials. 11. Are Skin Elixir products safe? Yes absolutely, all my products are lab tested and certified and are suitable for all skin types.

As a one woman brand I make everything by hand in small batches but do not currently offer this service. However my packaging is minimal and all reusable and recyclable ♻️. I use amber glass which protects the integrity of the products. 

Yes 12 months with the exception of the Intensive Night Cream which is 6 months. I make everything weekly so do not hold stock so you will be receiving ultra fresh products.
