Skin Care to Age Your Face Well

Today's bog is all about skin care for ageing well.

At nearly 48 years old I have never been happier with my skin. Rewind 5 years and I would not have felt confident leaving the house without make up. Skin Elixir is the result of me wanting to address my own skin concerns  - dry, flaking, spot prone skin with a lack lustre uneven skin tone.

Now I can happily attest, along with my customers that Skin Elixir really is the healing balm for those with little time to spare for beauty regimes, for those who want to leave the house with smoother, soothed, nourished skin without he faff of applying lots of make up. With nothing to mask, there's no need.

So what makes Skin Elixir so caring to skin?

Let's take a look at 3 core ingredients that feature across my small but beautifully formed skincare range.

1. Frankincense - Frankincense is the ingredient which features across the whole range and is beneficial in many ways. Boswellia serrata (Frankincense) oil is known as the 'king' of oils. Historically, it was used by the Babylonians, Assyrians and Egyptians in various ceremonies and as a resin for salves and balms.  It is known for its ability to calm emotions and to increase clarity of thinking. It is also recognized to increase circulation which can be effective in the promotion of healthy, dewy, glowing skin and complexion. The healthy cell-regeneration promoted by Frankincense can also help with the appearance of scars, spots, acne, eczema, psoriasis and with the overall balancing of skin tone. It can help restore elasticity to the skin whilst minimising wrinkles.

2. Black Seed Oil - Black Seed Oil or Nigella Sativa is an absolute skin healing elixir. Highly nourishing, it is rich in plant acids and essential fatty acids which help to maintain the skin's lipid barrier, preventing the skin from drying out.
is naturally anti-histamine and anti-microbial Black Seed Oil works to nourish the skin, making it perfect for treating rashes and Eczema and even Psoriasis, soothing itching and irritation. As it's rich in powerful antioxidants, skin's number one anti ageing agents. A key active component of which is Thymoquinone , this powerful antioxidant helps to fight off free radicals - which damage skin cells through oxidation. Free radicals destroy the skins cellular degradation by stealing oxygen from healthy skin causing them to wither which in time leads to the formation of lines and sagging skin. Black Seed Oil works to fight these ageing processes.

3. Moringa Oil - Moringa Oil is a rich source of vitamins, powerful antioxidants and minerals that meets all your skin needs. It is remarkably high in vitamin c, around 7 times more than oranges. Vitamin C is needed in order for our skin to naturally produce collagen. Moringa is jam-packed with nutrients that have been shown to slow down the aging process, combat stress, create healthier skin, support bone health, lower cholesterol levels and help with vision (to name a few of the benefits). The report linked above goes into much detail. Moringa Oil helps in cleansing, nourishing, and nurturing your skin naturally and promotes youthful skin tone. In a three month study collagen formation increased along with skin elasticity. You can read the findings here. Highly repairing, Moringa Oil's antioxidant qualities are able to quash the effects of skin inflammation caused by oxidative stress.
